Introducing…”Red Dog”

Last night, Meagan and I welcomed a new four-legged edition to our family.

Red Dog

She’s a Golden Retriever / Chow Chow mix, perhaps with some Irish Setter added in as well, and about a year and a half old. She’s still getting used to her new surroundings, but so far, is adjusting to things pretty well, including entertaining our friends Val and Andrew last night. The highlights of her first day included killing a small bird in our yard and energetically jumping into bed last night – nice try!

Today, we made our first visit to Petsmart to pick up some supplies. Meagan took her for a walk around the ‘hood. Later, I took her for a short walk near Green Lake. She enjoyed attempting to chase ducks, squirrels, and more birds. She’s apparently a dog, it turns out.

After returning from our walk, JJ stopped by with Sadie, and the two got along quite well, which is a good thing since they’ll likely be office pals at work. In fact, I’ve never seen Sadie so excited. She repeatedly did her “butt dance”, and kept trying to get “red dog” to play. It was charming.

As for the obvious question, we haven’t decided on a permanent name yet…we’ll let you know soon.

Awesome! Maybe we should visit you guys!

What a beauty! I’m sure she’s already anticipating visits from her doting grandparents. We promise not to spoil her…too much.
And what a lucky dog. She couldn’t possibly have found a more loving family to adopt. But did you inform her that she may soon hold the record for the world’s most photographed dog?
