Lanfords in Seattle!
This past weekend, my cousin Becky, her husband Jay, and their two lovely daughters came up from Portland to pay a visit.
They arrived on Friday night and most of the weekend was spent relaxing at the house, eating good (often grilled) food, checking out the neighborhood, and generally enjoying summer life in Seattle.
Saturday, we had a pancake breakfast at the house – the peach and blueberry ones were quite the hit. Afterwards, Abby and June checked out the wading pool near Greenlake and we walked around the lake to grab lunch at the dog-friendly 72nd Street Cafe.
We then headed back for naps and to get ready for the No Depression Festival at Marymoor Park. We only saw the last two acts, Iron & Wine and Gillian Welch, but both were awesome to see.
Sunday, the Lanfords visited with some of their friends and took the girls to their favorite local attraction, the Space Needle. Sunday evening we had another relaxing dinner and playtime at the house.
The highlight for me was getting to meet June and watching Abby gradually grow more accustomed and playful with the big and scary Lulu.
Thanks for a great visit guys! We’ll have to return the favor down in Portland soon…
